Strengthening marriages and relationships

El-Shaddai Grace Worship Centre Church in Bloemfontein held a couple’s fellowship on 10 November where the focus was on strengthening and building strong marriages and relationships.

The couple’s fellowship saw married couples and those engaged fill the “Upper Room” to hear for themselves first hand what makes the marriages tick and what can build strong and lasting marriages. The were also few unmarried guys who also learnt the basics and joy of being  in marriage.

Guest speakers included Bishop Sqhana and Reverend Thambazana Nibe. Addressing married couples and those engaged who filled the church, Reverend Nibe said communication and love are important as they play a big role in marriages.
Nibe says married couple should continually confess their love for each other, respect and communicate always to avoid things getting out of hand. She also advised married couples to be humble and work things through in marriage and to stick to each other through thick and thin and also to make time for one another despite their various schedules
Those who attended got to learn from Reverend Nibe about challenges posed to marriages and how to avoid them and the importance of knowing about their spouses fully and knowing what makes them tick and what can be done to continue the spark of love in marriages.
The are marriages in ICU, those pushed in a wheel chair and those that badly needs a resuscitation due to various challenges such as culture, the in laws and clashing characters to mention just a few.
Bishop Sqhana who has been married for more than 30 years called on husbands to love their wives and to be faithful to them. He said the spark in marriage should not die after getting married but must always be resuscitated through various ways.
According to Bishop Sqhana it’s important for married couples to know their spouses weakness and to compliment them when they do good and to have eyes only for them.

Bishop Sqhana also touched on the subject of money adding that it is vital as it plays a prominent role in marriages. According to the bishop the sex part is important and must be utilized fully as it’s another factor that leads to promiscuity and adultery and to curb that, he went in details on how sex in marriage can be enjoyed.
To end the day on a zenith note. Bishop Sqhana led a powerful prayer to pray for marriages and relationships asking God to intervene in bringing long lasting healthy marriages.

Mr Itumeleng Ngake did a fantastic job as the master of ceremony and the Divine Sisters kept the audience on their toes, swaying their hips and kept them well entertained through music.
